Hi, I’m Violet and I live in Shrewsbury, England with my partner (a self confessed ‘shoe slut’), various kids depending on what day of the week it is, a ridiculous tiny chihuahua called Mort, two fat cats and a couple of temperamental reptiles. It’s a busy household.

I have been blogging for nearly a decade, but founded Sex, Death, Rock’n’Roll in 2014 in order to start afresh with a more personal approach. I am a lifestyle blogger, but not in the classic sense – there’s no boring beige ‘yummy mummy’ content here. I write about my favourite things – sex, tattoos, gin, lipstick and living (dis)gracefully over the age of forty. I also cover autism and mental health issues – both my youngest son and myself are autistic and I also have a chronic anxiety disorder. Go me!

My day job is as a freelance writer, for both mainstream and trade publications. I’m a regular contributor to MetroUK (click here to see my features archive).

I have published several erotica shorts under the pseudonym Indigo Moore, two of which went to #1 on the Amazon UK erotica charts and top ten in the USA. Some of my most popular titles are now available as an anthology and I am currently adapting another into a novel. I previously ran The Skull Illusion, which specialised in vintage post mortem photography, had daily traffic in the thousands and was featured in Italy’s biggest daily newspaper, La Republicca, amongst others. I closed the site after a hacking attack in 2014 but it now exists once again as a sub-section of SDRR (click here).

If there is one thing I’d like people to take from this site, it is the thought that no one is under any obligation to conform to society’s norms, regardless of age, disability or background. Or as I like to put it:

Be your own tribe.
