Eroticon, in case you didn’t already know, is the UK’s foremost conference for writers and bloggers who specialise in talking about sex in both fact and fiction.
Founded by Ruth Douglas in 2012, Eroticon has this year been taken over by a new team and also has a new base, moving from its original Bristol home to Arlington House in Camden, north London. I’ve attended all but the very first Eroticon and will be there again this year thanks to my lovely sponsors, those awesome folk at Sheets of San Fransisco.
I already knew the company, having met them at Sexhibition last year. I even appeared in bed with CEO and co-founder Marc Boulton in an article I wrote for Metro. So I was thrilled to hear (completely out of the blue) that they’d offered to sponsor my delegate ticket for this year’s event.
I love companies like SoSF because they’re nothing like anything else out there – they produce ‘fluid-proof’ sheets that are far sexier than the description implies. Tactile and beautifully made, their bedding can be washed as normal yet isn’t damaged by things like lube being spilled on them. I’m also told that they’re ‘stiletto heel proof’ although I’ve yet to try that one out.
Above all, they’re interested – in people and other products – and interesting. They’ve been kind enough to let me have one of their ‘funsheets’ (BEST NAME EVER!) to try and I’ll be reviewing that soon, but in the meantime go take a look at their website. Because who doesn’t like a bit of fluid-y fun, huh?!
