The Bottom Line Project started when a couple of friends jokingly recreated a photo of a small child standing playing in a sink, butt-naked.
Others started joining in and it became apparent very quickly that many of them found it liberating to ‘flash the flesh’ and realise that actually they were ‘normal’, however much they disliked their own bodies. We are HUMAN – we may all be different, but we’re also all the same.
And we are all ‘normal’.
The project is ongoing and open to both men and women. If you would like to join in, please donate here then send a rear view photo of yourself (decently quality phone pics are fine) to violetfenn@gmail.com, along with your name (or initial) and your age. Remember – NO PHOTOSHOPPING!
You can always just donate without showing your arse, if you prefer – it all goes to help Sane in their (frankly brilliant and utterly essential) work.

FLASHING THE FLESH FOR SANE

Mental illness affects one in four people at an point in time and the impact touches every person in society. There is a wide spectrum of conditions, including anxiety, addiction, obsession, phobia, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, schizophrenia or an eating disorder.
These conditions can lead to profound emotions of despair and thoughts of suicide. People’s experiences can often be further complicated by alcohol or drug addiction.
There are many misconceptions about mental illness, often fuelled by images we see on television and stories we read in the media.
SANE is committed to helping people with these conditions as well as their families, carers and health professionals.
The Bottom Line Project is raising money for Sane – if you join in, please consider putting a couple of quid in the pot for this incredibly good cause. And if the thought of getting your butt out in public is enough to make you weep, then maybe chuck a couple of quid in anyway, in lieu of taking your pants off!
